THE CHALLENGE

Computer Disposals Limited are one of the UK’s leading IT disposal companies and due to rapid growth had outgrown their existing facility and needed to relocate to a larger premises.

Originally spread over three sites, CDL were bursting at the seams and logistically finding it difficult to maintain their high level of customer service. Due to space restrictions CDL could not expand their business at the rate of demand and needed to resolve the situation quickly.

After searching for a new building they discovered a 70,000 square foot warehouse in Runcorn that was in a perfect location. The problem for CDL was that the building was in a state of disrepair and needed a complete refit from top to bottom.

THE SOLUTION

The project included the design and construction of a mezzanine floor based solution to house over 50 employees. The office block included a bespoke reception area, canteen facilities, WC areas, meeting rooms, open plan office areas, Manager and Director offices, server rooms and a gym.  This was contained in a two storey office block 25 metres by 12 metres deep.

Within the warehouse we constructed over 50 metres of 9000mm high jumbo partitioning to segregate the pallet racking areas, which formed a state of the art computer dismantling area. The warehouse area received a full redecoration and the installation of a brand new epoxy floor covering.

Throughout the building LED lighting and power was installed for CDL’s machines. At the rear of the warehouse a second mezzanine floor was constructed to house more office facilities and a workshop and customer trade counter.
